Plaque Wording: "Old Red" the First Commercial Spindle Cotton Picker Built in 1943 it Picked 8000 Bales In California. It was Retired in 1959 and Restored in 1964. It is Still Mounted on its Original Farmall Tractor. Because of the Significant Contribution this Machine and Its Successors Have Made to American Agriculture it is Designated a Historic Landmark of Agricultural Engineering Dedicated by the American Society of Agricultural Engineers 1978
